ArtMentum
How does the public art and architecture we interact with daily play a role in our individual and collective mental health, by its presence, absence, or alteration?
How can the art museum be a space in the service of mental health?
As part of this collaboration between ArtNordic and the NSAH (Nordic School of Arts and Health), a pilot project was created where victims of violence interacted with works of art at the National Gallery of Denmark (SMK).
The ArtMentum platform covers this and other ways in which mental health care practitioners can utilise public art to help their clients gain awarenesses, connection and dignity.

Do you long for a space where you can take a breath, be yourself, (re)discover your needs, and share with others?
The challenges of chronic pain can be many and invisible to the non-sufferer. The body can feel like an unfriendly home. Both waking and sleeping hours can be a struggle, which creates a vicious cycle of pain, fatigue, more pain, lack of energy, a sense of never accomplishing enough, and a downward spiral of negative emotions such as fear, anger, grief, and shame. Depression and anxiety are not uncommon. Some days can feel like merely surviving.Contact to others becomes compromised. Isolation and loneliness can creep in.
What is Gestalt?
Gestalt is a holistic and existential approach that focuses on relational contact and becoming aware of how you meet the world. Are you just surviving each day or are you living to your full potential? With the support of a Gestalt trained psychotherapist, you are encouraged to tap into the wisdom of your own body and be present with "what is" in the "here and now" of your experiences. Understanding yourself makes it possible to accept who you are and take responsibility for your actions. Vitality ensues.
Facilitated by Jill Trenholm Ph.D and Aglaia Michelaki
I am Jill.
I am a Canadian Gestalt psychotherapist living in Sweden. I have worked as a trauma nurse for many years and as an academic for the last 15 years, researching and teaching global health at Uppsala University. After healing from my own “exhaustion syndrome” in 2016, I have been on a deeper journey of self discovery; how could this have happened? I am passionate about helping others appreciate their value and the significance of self-care.
––––––––––
I am Aglaia.
I am a supervised Gestalt practitioner in my 4th and thesis year at the Gestalt Institute of Scandinavia and a certified mindfulness (MBSR) and Yoga Nidra instructor. My focus is primary chronic pain, trauma and transitions in life. It is my personal 20+ year journey with chronic pain and Fibromyalgia that has led me on this path after one in the arts. Through awareness and self-compassion, I hope to help others rediscover hope and empower them into living connected and fulfilling lives.
*These sessions are subject to senior therapists’ supervision, with the goal of promoting self-development / self-discovery for the participants. This course is by no means a substitute for seeking medical care but rather aims to be a forum for collective support and sharing.

Coming home to yourself for the holidays
As magical as they are, the Holidays can also bring up feelings of stress, unmet expectations and displacement. One year is ending, and many of us take stock, asking ourselves what needs to go, and what we deeply wish for in the New Year.
Using Yoga Nidra, Gestalt therapy, Jungian dreamwork, art therapy tools and ritual, this workshop will help you release the past, get ready to receive next year's gifts and connect to the inner home, and deep wisdom of the body.
Give yourself this pre-Christmas gift of creativity, regeneration and a few hours in caring community with like-minded people.

In addition, outcomes highlight statistically significant reductions in symptoms for various physical and behavioral health conditions including anxiety, depression and chronic pain, along with positive changes in risk factors that may lead to more serious chronic ailments.
