      <image:caption>Photo credit: Jannik Weylandt photography Welcome! My name is Aglaia. I am a Clinical Gestalt Psychotherapist, Mindfulness (MBSR) and Yoga Nidra instructor. Since I can remember myself I have been drawn to people and their stories. Art became a passion as an extension of that - an indirect way to communicate that which touches our deepest core, and darkest shadows, especially in times of pain. There is a crack in everything - that’s how the light gets in, sang fellow Canadian, Leonard Cohen. I would say that this is also how the beauty of our light gets out and meets that of others. After studies in History of Art and Architecture, a career in teaching and as an entrepreneur, the time came for my deeper calling - that of healing and empowerment. I am a clinical psychotherapist from the Gestalt Institute of Scandinavia, the only institution in Denmark accredited by the European Psychotherapists Association. I also hold an MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction) certification from Brown University. Finally, a true believer in the healing power of sleep, I am a Yoga Nidra Instructor. I employ a creative, person-centred approach, with compassion at its core, to help others on their path to living their best life. I have a special interest in the connection between trauma and chronic pain as well as empowerment during transitions in life.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>What is it like to truly inhabit one's soma/body? To trust it despite pain, and to allow it pleasure? Embodiment means to give a body to a soul/purpose/ideal. But what does it mean to live in an embodied way? The Story of Psyche and Eros is one of a beautiful metamorphosis, when soul and body are united, in trust, and after perseverence. Though the myth may be seen as one of love between two, it may serve as an understanding of reaching wholeness, and the capacity of pleasure, within oneself. We live in a time of great division between our thoughts, feelings, and somatic experience. Negative experiences are likely to result in a split between mind and body. People often say they feel as if their soul is outside their body, when unintegrated negative experiences linger. Gestalt therapy, a body centred experiential and highly experimental type of therapy, is built upon a continuous return to the now, the body and its sensations. To this will be added body awareness exercises and mindfulness, in the safety of a small group facilitated in compassion. Is it not time to stop fighting the disatisfaction, and instead go for the satisfaction?
